Rory is originally from Dublin and trained at the Drama Centre, London, graduating in 1989.
Rory has appeared with many leading theatre companies including the National, RSC, Royal Court and Young Vic. He’s toured all over England, Wales and Scotland where he is no stranger, having done two repertoire seasons at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and in 2007 he received The Leon Sinden Award for his role in Taking Sides. Other recent theatre includes: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Nottingham Playhouse & Edinburgh Royal Lyceum); Joking Apart (Exeter Northcott); The Weir (Southampton Nuffield); Twelfth Night (Chester Gateway); and The Clearing (Stellar Quines TC).
Recent film and television includes: The Papyrus (feature); Falling For a Dancer; Death of a Gentleman; Without Consent; and The Brittas Empire (all for the BBC); and The Fool (Sands Films).
