Benny has had a long and varied career. In theatre he has spent seasons with the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, and The Wrestling School. Other theatre companies he has worked for include; Hampstead Theatre, Edinburgh Traverse, Arches TC, Perth Theatre, The Touring Consortium, and the Old Vic where he played opposite Kevin Spacey in The Iceman Cometh.
Television roles range from two years as Brian Dunkley in Coronation Street and two years as DS Ted Hatchard in Boon, to more recent guest roles in Waking The Dead, Spooks, Is This Love? and Taggart.
Feature films include: Hugh Hudson’s Chariots of Fire; Sidney Pollock’s Out of Africa; and Taylor Hackford’s White Nights.

Donmar announce Macbeth cast
The Donmar Warehouse has announced the cast of their upcoming production of Macbeth. Clients Jatinder Singh Randhawa and Benny Young will be joining the 15 strong cast, led by David Tennant and Cush Jumbo. Playing the Donmar from 8th December until 10th February. More details here. Featured actors:

Written by Peter Arnott and directed by David Greig. This intense and riveting story is set in a Perthshire country house during the Scottish Independence referendum of 2014. It revolves around retired academic and political heavyweight, George Rennie and his fractured family and former students, coming together for a dramatic reckoning. There are secrets to be exposed. The play is an exploration of a way of life which is coming to its end, a family struggling to connect in the wake of political pain, grief and the beginnings and ends of great love affairs. Playing Pitlochry Festival Theatre from 25th August to 28th September, and the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh from 4th until 14th October. Featured actors:

In this riotous reimagining of the classic story with a live flamenco guitar score, one 87-year old man decides to cut through the noise and be the good old-fashioned hero the world needs right now. It’s time to put on the armour, saddle up the mobility scooter and go forth on a journey (N.B. NOT an emotional one). Accompanied by his verbally incontinent nephew Sandy, Don sets out on a freewheeling picaresque adventure through the pedestrianised town centres, traffic islands, Wetherspoons and wind farms of contemporary Scotland, before being dragged home to face his greatest nemesis: a social care needs assessment.
